Job Summary
Clean & Safe Ambassadors are the frontline representatives of 3CDC in Downtown Cincinnati and Over-the-Rhine. Ambassadors patrol assigned areas on foot or bike, helping to maintain a safe, welcoming, and vibrant environment for residents, workers, and visitors. Through visible presence, customer service, and quick response to cleanliness and safety concerns, Ambassadors play a critical role in creating a positive experience for everyone who interacts with our civic spaces and business districts.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Engagement
  • Proactively greet and assist residents, visitors, and businesses with directions, event details, or recommendations.
  • Provide a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the organization’s standards of respect, efficiency, and inclusivity.
  • Bring positive energy to daily interactions—be the face of the district.
  • Engage respectfully with individuals whose behavior conflicts with posted rules or district regulations.
  • Maintain a positive, solution-focused attitude in all interactions.
Cleanliness & Maintenance
  • Perform manual litter collection, trash removal, spill response, and graffiti removal.
  • Monitor and report areas with frequent litter, hazardous materials (needles, excrement), or maintenance issues.
  • Ensure all districts are tidy, safe, and welcoming for residents, visitors, and businesses.
Safety & Patrols
  • Maintain a highly visible and approachable presence in assigned zones to promote safety and discourage unwanted behavior.
  • Conduct scheduled safety patrols of identified target areas at designated times during each shift.
  • Stay alert to quality-of-life concerns, unsafe conditions, or potential criminal activity during patrols.
  • Engage courteously but firmly with individuals violating district expectations (e.g., aggressive panhandling, blocking sidewalks, disruptive behavior).
  • Report safety issues using established communication procedures.
Reporting & Documentation
  • Record all patrols, incidents, and observations in Survey123.
  • Document all calls to 911 and notify Supervisors immediately or as soon as conditions allow.
  • Provide written reports on maintenance issues, graffiti, or broken infrastructure as observed.
Professionalism & Teamwork
  • Uphold 3CDC’s expectations for respectful, reliable, and accountable conduct at all times.
  • Collaborate with fellow Ambassadors and Supervisors to ensure comprehensive district coverage.
  • Support a positive team culture grounded in learning, efficiency, and inclusivity.
Qualifications
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make good decisions under pressure.
  • Comfortable engaging with the public, including addressing conflict with professionalism.
  • Able to work independently while contributing to a team.
  • Prior experience in safety, hospitality, or public-facing roles is a plus.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and remain on foot/bike for extended periods.
  • Be able to work holidays, evenings and weekends as scheduled.
Licenses & Certifications
Valid driver’s license preferred but not required.
Physical & Mental Demands
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to remain on foot for 8+ hours in all weather conditions (rain, heat, snow, cold).
