Job Summary:

At Atkins & Pearce, Inc., the Quality Manager plays a critical role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. This position requires a dynamic individual who can balance hands-on quality work with effective management of a quality team. The Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire quality management system, ensuring ISO compliance, and managing regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Management:

  • Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company's Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO standards.
  • Develop, document, and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures.
  • Conduct internal audits and manage external audit processes to maintain ISO certification.
  • Ensure that products meet all regulatory requirements and internal quality standards before they reach the customer.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Monitor and manage compliance with all relevant regulatory standards, including but not limited to ISO, REACH, RoHS, Prop 65, other industry-specific regulations, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations and standards, and implement necessary changes to company practices and documentation.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory documentation as required.

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead and manage the quality team.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for quality team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and maintenance, to ensure quality standards are integrated into all processes.

Hands-On Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality inspections, audits, and testing as needed.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes for quality issues.
  • Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and oversee the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Analyze quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the quality department and across the organization.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ISO Lead Auditor, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) are a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a quality management role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in an ISO-certified organization.
  • Proven experience with regulatory compliance and managing quality systems.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of ISO standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team while also executing hands-on tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and tools.

Working Conditions:

  • This position requires a combination of office work and hands-on activities on the manufacturing floor.
  • Occasional travel may be required for audits, training, and supplier visits.
