Staff Accountant

JOB EMPHASIS AND PURPOSE
This is a Staff Accountant position with general accounting and financial analysis duties. Reporting to the CFO and communicating with customers, vendors, and internal staff.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting Duties
- Perform month-end close journal entries and reconciliations
- Weekly payroll submission
- Reconcile all bank accounts daily
- Enter Ecommerce transactions
- Fixed asset entry and tracking
- Enter foreign affiliate branch activity
- Year-end account reconciliations
- Participate in year-end inventory count (December)
- Back up for AP & AR tasks
Reporting
- Ad hoc reporting and analysis
- Monthly expenditure analysis and reporting
- Assist in Month-End close process
- Sales tax returns
Collaboration and Staff Support:
- Projects to support Accounting and CFO
- Ability to foster teamwork, communication and accountability.
- In addition: Teamwork, face-to-face communication, good attendance
Miscellaneous:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Experience:
- Knowledge and skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related fields.
- 5 years of professional experience in Accounting.
- Manufacturing Accounting experience a plus
License / Credentials / Certifications:
- N/A

- Calm, patient, diplomatic, and confident demeanor in working with staff and vendors.
- Advanced attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
- Intermediate ability to prioritize own wide-ranging work load and work independently.
- Ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality regarding business and staff information.
- Intermediate ability to communicate both verbally and in writing to a wide range of audiences – primarily staff, vendors, and customers.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.
- Intermediate ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, vendors and customers.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working Hours / Environment:
- Office hours are 40 hours per week – currently from 8:00am to 5:00pm (Monday – Friday). May require additional hours periodically, including evenings and weekends, depending on business needs.
- Work is typically performed in an indoor office setting.

Physical and Mental Demands:
- Frequently required to remain in a stationary position at a desk or workstation for extended periods.
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment with sufficient manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- May occasionally need to move about the office to access files, supplies, or equipment.
- May occasionally lift or move materials such as files or office supplies (typically up to 20 pounds).
- Ability to communicate and exchange information effectively with employees, clients, and others, whether in person, by phone, or through other appropriate means.
- Sufficient mobility to navigate the office environment as needed to perform essential job functions.
- Ability to review and interpret sourcing data, benefits information, and related reports to make informed recommendations.
- Mental and Cognitive Requirements: ability to compare, analyze, interpret, problem-solve, make decisions, direct, instruct, and communicate effectively in a professional environment.
