Maintenance Planner/Scheduler

JOB EMPHASIS AND PURPOSE
The Maintenance Planner / Scheduler is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all maintenance activities across Atkins & Pearce. This role schedules machine and process maintenance as well as facility-related repairs and work. The Planner / Scheduler is also responsible for maintenance MRO ordering and inventory control to ensure required parts and materials are available to support planned and reactive maintenance work.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance Scheduling
- Plan and schedule all maintenance activities, including machine repairs, cleaning and oiling, preventive maintenance, and facility repairs.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules across departments to support approved work priorities.
- Maintain visibility of maintenance backlog, upcoming work, and schedule conflicts.
- Support escalation of urgent maintenance needs in coordination with Maintenance and Facilities leadership.
Inventory Parts
- Oversee the inventory process of all parts & supplies including the identification & disposal of
obsolete items.
- Preform physical inventory & entering of data (MP2).
- Work with purchasing and/or vendors to troubleshoot, identify & correct all purchasing
problems.
MRO Ordering & Inventory Control
- Manage maintenance MRO inventory, including spare parts, consumables, and supplies.
- Create and process requests for maintenance-related parts and materials based on defined specifications.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including physical counts and system updates.
- Identify obsolete, excess, or critical spare parts and coordinate corrective actions.
- Work with purchasing and vendors as needed to resolve ordering or delivery issues.
Work Order & System Management
- Maintain the maintenance work order system.(MP2)
- Create, update, and manage work orders and tasks related to machine and facility maintenance.
- Ensure work orders are properly planned, documented, and closed.
Miscellaneous
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Experience
- Knowledge & skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree in business or related fields.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in Maintenance & Inventory Control.
License / Credentials / Certifications
- Forklift license
Skills / Specialized Knowledge / Abilities
- Calm, organized, patient, diplomatic, & confident demeanor in working with staff & vendors.
- Comfort in relating to all levels of management & personnel.
- Hands-on experience with Infor SyteLine
- Advanced attention to detail & accuracy in all work.
- Advanced ability to prioritize own wide-ranging workload & work independently.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
- Intermediate ability to work collaboratively with colleagues & vendors.
- Teamwork, face-to-face communication, good attendance.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working Hours / Environment
- Work hours are 40 hours a week. May require additional hours periodically, including evening & weekends depending on business needs.
- Work typically performed in an indoor office & plant setting.
Tools and Equipment
- Personal computer, copier, fax/scanner, phone, & other typical office equipment.
- May be asked to use a wrench, screwdriver, hammer, & other hand or portable tools.
Travel
- Minimal
Physical and Mental Demands
- Frequently required to sit at desk/workstation for long periods of time, extended computer work.
- Moderate lifting & carrying of parts, supplies, files, etc.
- Ability to speak to & hear employees/clients via phone or in person.
- Body motor skills sufficient to enable incumbent to move around the office/plant environment.
- Ability to analyze data for reports & make recommendations.
- Additional Mental Requirements: compare, decide, direct, problem solve, analyze, instruct, interpret.
