POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Global Commercial Analytics and Compensation leads the global sales operations function with a focus on strategic, data-driven decision-making. This role is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive analytics strategy—including predictive analytics capabilities—and managing variable compensation programs for the global commercial team. Success in this role requires strong expertise in sales operations, data analytics, and incentive compensation design, as well as a collaborative leadership style that drives alignment and sales performance across the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

Strategic Analytics and Insights

  • Design and implement a global business intelligence and predictive analytics roadmap that translates multi-source data into proactive decision support and performance optimization.
  • Design and refine a flexible reporting framework that supports evolving business models and go-to-market strategies.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and visualizations (e.g., PowerBI) that translate complex business needs into clear, impactful metrics for all organizational levels.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and other business leaders to align analytics efforts with strategic priorities and revenue growth.
  • Evaluate and implement tools and technologies to enhance data insight generation and reporting effectiveness.
  • Operate as a player-coach—balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution, including conducting ad hoc analyses to support urgent business needs.
  • Continuously optimize reporting frameworks to align with evolving business models, go-to-market strategies, and key performance drivers—translating shifting business needs into actionable analytics.

Variable Compensation Management

  • Design, implement, and manage global variable compensation plans that align with business goals, drive performance, and comply with local regulations.
  • Oversee monthly variable compensation calculations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with plan design and metrics.
  • Collaborate with Finance and HR to manage compensation modeling, budgeting, and payouts.
  • Provide insights into compensation plan effectiveness and ROI through regular reporting.
  • Maintain SOX-compliant processes to ensure audit readiness and strong internal controls.

Sales Analytics and Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing sales operations team.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the sales funnel through process optimization, predictive analytics, KPI definition, and tool enhancements.
  • Support sales enablement efforts by aligning tools, training, and operational processes with strategic goals.
  • Lead a flexible, forward-thinking team that anticipates and adapts to business shifts and responds with relevant, actionable insights.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in business and data analytics with a minimum of 5 years of experience in developing and implementing analytics and variable compensation strategy
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, or related field
  • Proven experience in developing and executing analytics and predictive modeling strategies.
  • Proficiency using at least one statistical software package and experience with forecasting and modeling.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders by translating data into compelling business narratives.
  • Experience with sales operations, managing variable compensation plans and developing sales strategies
  • Experience driving future growth and setting vision, strategy, and goals
  • Advanced knowledge and skill in SQL, Excel and MS Access
  • Strong understanding of sales compensation design and administration on a global scale and experience in applications such as Varicent Incentives
  • Experience in analytics platforms such as MS Fabric and PowerBI
  • Experience in the medical device field
  • Exceptional written/verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to travel 10%

COMPENSATION:

Salary range is $150,000 - $185,000 (highly experienced). The final salary within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and skills, and will align with internal equity and market standards. Additional compensation may include bonuses, benefits, and other perks.
