Job Description:

The Sampling and Test Development Specialist I will gather test scripting or data requirements, working with data partners to ensure appropriate test design or sampling requirements are incorporated in to the Test Plans.

This role is responsible for accessing pertinent databases or acquiring raw data from third party sources along with all associated documentation, or for documenting business procedures within testing scripts.

Role may also be responsible for quality reviews to ensure accuracy of tests, oversight reviews, and delivery of data for execution.

This role will deliver high-quality results and may manage, manipulate and summarize large quantities of data.

The Sampling Development Specialist, under supervision, works in collaboration with the Test Owners, Front Line Units, Data Partners, Test Execution Teams, and other Sampling and Test Development resources to build end to end strategic and robust Sampling and automation solutions to meet our business needs. This Sampling and Test Development Specialist works with business partners to clarify test objectives and business requirements; gather data requirements, code data extraction and automated testing, distribute samples for testing/design, and create procedure documentation.

You will be responsible for acquiring raw data from third party sources along with all associated documentation and will maintain SOR (System of Record) tracking of test status in accordance with company standards. The Sampling Development Specialist often acts independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with procurement of data to be used for testing and the structure and design of complex tests.

The Sampling Development Specialist delivers high-quality results and may manage, manipulate and summarize large quantities of data. The Specialist must participate in and occasionally lead additional projects across Sampling and Test Development including escalation of areas requiring process refinement and revision and taking leadership role to affect changes when needed.

This role provides expertise and feedback on areas assigned, and will work on both new test builds as well as enhancements to existing tests

Qualifications and experiences:
-Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
-2+ years experience with an internal audit, testing, risk management, process improvement, compliance, or front line control role
-Compliance or Risk certification a plus
-Understanding of automation tools and ability to structure tests in an automated fashion.
-For Technical roles: Experience with data warehouse and mining concepts and baseline understanding of SAS/SQL query language and syntax or ability to quickly learn technical requirements.

Required Skills:

•    Diverse experience across multiple lines of business and functions
•    Understanding of automation tools and ability to structure tests in an automated fashion.
•    Experience with data warehouse and mining concepts and baseline understanding of SAS/SQL query language and syntax or ability to quickly learn technical requirements.
•    Experience building queries to source data from a variety of different types of data sources such as DB2, Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, Hadoop, Hive
•    Familiarity with financial and/or non-financial regulatory reporting in a large bank setting
•    Proficiency with MS Office suite with an emphasis on Excel to perform data analytics, pivot tables, lookups and data analytics
•    Ability to leverage automation efficiencies, tools, and capabilities, where possible
•    Experience building data acquisition routines in a tool such as Trifacta, Alteryx, Microstrategy, Tableau, Cognos (or other similar business intelligence applications)
•    Strong research, analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills
•    Self-starter, organized, versatile, capable of performing work independently with minimal direction
•    Demonstrated project management skills; Ability to handle multiple competing priorities with demonstrated success at achieving SLA (Service Level Agreements)
•    Strong team player

Desired Skills:
•Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
•2+ years’ experience with an internal audit, testing, risk management, process improvement, compliance, or front line control role
•1+ years working within a financial institution or Big 4 consulting
•Compliance or Risk certification a plus
