The Role

The GCB (Global Commercial Bank) -Subsidiaries Banker will focus in delivering the Global Commercial Banking platform to our GCB-S clients and executing the international GCB strategy. There will be a strong focus on the client experience when bringing a full breadth of the bank’s capabilities to GCB International subsidiaries overseas. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading focused work streams around specific client needs and to support the development of tactical plans within the broader GCIB strategic mandate, specific to the target client group.

The GCB-S Banker will manage client relationships, grow portfolio revenues and will be accountable for client satisfaction, creating solutions for the regional based subsidiaries of Global Commercial Banking clients headquartered in North America. The role will focus on cross-selling all of the Bank’s commercial banking products including credit, debt capital markets, investment banking, ABL, Leasing, Vendor Finance, Supply Chain Finance, Trade Finance, Cash and Liquidity Management, FX, Rates and Commodities.

Job Description:

  • Develop and grow the target/selected client relationships through coordination of regular client planning, working closely with GCB Global client teams and relevant Product partners.

  • Assess clients’ needs and work with product specialists to structure appropriate product solutions. Demonstrate to the clients a full understanding of their needs. Team up with business partners to offer comprehensive banking product offerings to targeted clients.

  • Drive a primary product set which includes credit and risk management/FICC products, cash management and trade solutions, debt capital raising, leasing, investment and treasury products.

  • Partner with product specialists to participate in business development and sales calls for marketing of Bank of America’s capabilities globally.

  • Monitor P&L performance of the portfolio assigned by the regional and international GCB heads, show accountability for the portfolio, demonstrating ownership and managing client relationships accordingly. Work with the global banking and credit team to manage credit exposure, capital commitments & relationship returns.

  • Help strengthen the Bank’s presence and profile in the local market as a credible business partner and financial advisor. Demonstrate a value-add to international client base, combining strong local market knowledge with a detailed understanding of their challenges and opportunities as an international business.

  • Be the escalation point for client relationships in region, proactively solving issues, escalating appropriately to business leads in region.

  • Work with GCB Corporate Banking, CBK-Subs, Product teams, Support leaders and stakeholders to determine Go-to-Market, client and business development strategies to achieve revenue, returns, client acquisition and cross-sell growth.

  • Participate in the development of the GCB-S group, generating ideas, taking ownership and demonstrating leadership as a banker. Participate in the build out of the people platform with top young talent in accordance with the strategic road map, whilst continuing to promote inclusivity and diversity principles.

  • Demonstrate deep market knowledge and apply this knowledge by generating beneficial ideas for clients.

  • Analyzing clients' financing needs & structures the financing package

  • Help the senior GCB relationship manager on client proposals, presentations to clients and follow ups

  • Assist and provide back up support to the EMEA GCB business by working in close collaboration with & taking local direction from the senior GCB Relationship Manager in the team.

  • To ensure the Bank’s activities are conducted in a compliant and risk free manner.

Core skills and requirements

  • Excellent business origination and closing skills, relevant experience in a client facing role

  • Strong knowledge of the industry/market practices/trends and client subsidiary banking needs across the EMEA region

  • Ability to identify, understand and manage credit and risk. Formal credit experience is core to this role.

  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and collaboratively across the matrix and establish a robust internal/external network

  • Good communications skills, strong analytical and quantitative skills necessary to represent the bank in a front office role. Proficiency in Excel data analysis and Power Point presentations

  • Solid understanding of the primary product set – credit and risk management/FICC product, cash management and trade

  • Team player comfortable working in virtual teams with cross-functional interaction

  • In depth experience of delivering investment banking products and advisory services to clients

  • Demonstrable ability to understand financing needs and match client needs with the most appropriate product / service

  • Meticulous attention to detail, diligence and conscientiousness

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Language skills – fluent English and another European language is advantages
