Job Description:

The Cyber Security Technology (CST) function within Global Information Security is responsible for innovation and architecture, engineering, solutions and capabilities development, deployment maintenance and support of information technology security controls. The CST team is also responsible for the management of the program/project management teams

About the role

This role is responsible for testing and delivering complex software to accomplish business outcomes. These individuals are subject matter experts on testing practices ensuring that software is tested to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. They help condition and generate test data, build and execute both manual and automated test suites, record and communicate the test results, and assist with triaging defects. They also ensure regression test suites are maintained and well designed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Previous role as a QA automation professional with 5+ years’ experience
  • Contribute to story refinement/defining requirements.
  • Participate and guide team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle.
  • Perform spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.
  • Code solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
  • Utilize multiple architectural components (across data, application, and business) in design and development of client requirements.
  • Assist team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work.
  • Contribute to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance), analyze test reports, identify any test issues/errors, and triage the underlying cause.
  • Document and communicate required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality.
  • Participate, contribute and can coach team members in the delivery/release (CI-CD) events. e.g. branching timelines, pull requests, issue triage, merge/conflict resolution, release notes.

Competencies

  • Experience creating tests within a hybrid framework with tools such as Cypress/Selenium.
  • Has demonstrated the ability to design and develop manual and automated test plans within an application. Has performed test plan reviews.
  • Knowledge of automation and continuous delivery practices. Ability to participate in their role and utilize necessary tools with minimal guidance.
  • Understands all roles and responsibilities within their team and uses the tool sets within the software lifecycle.
  • Contributes to artifacts needed for governance forums. Understands stakeholder expectations and creates regular updates to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Understands risks and can apply the controls necessary to mitigate. Knows when to escalate risks.
  • Actively participates in planning ceremonies. Has the ability to complete a task/story against plan/sprint commitment. Demonstrates working knowledge of Agile/Waterfall frameworks.
  • Experienced in planning, analyzing, designing and executing UI automation and regression test scenarios.
  • Previous experience creating frameworks using Cypress/Selenium from scratch (either hybrid or data driven)
  • Demonstrable expertise writing and executing SQL queries
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Great team player, with an ability to mentor other team members to enable them to become more established in their role. A willingness to get involved at times even when not in the area of expertise
