Job Summary:
Responsible for all building engineering services globally, outside of dedicated, primary data centers. This amounts to more than 35 countries outside the US. The primary function of the Engineering Services Executive is to perform an “in house” engineering consultant role, monitoring and checking all engineering functions associated with design, installation, maintenance, and operations ensuring bank processes are followed. Responsible for ensuring that the processes are in place such that all engineering work is planned in accordance with bank requirements including minimizing down time, keeping resilient designs simple (in line with the minimum engineering design requirements) and as efficiently and cost effectively as possible. Responsible for reviewing and approving all changes and updates of both Facility Vendor (FV) playbooks and bank owned engineering documents annually (minimum). Responsible for tracking, escalating, and reporting both KPI infractions and KRI threshold breaches. To continue to maintain the bank’s outstanding record for zero major, business impacting engineering related incidents (currently 9 years without a major incident). Responsible for the CEWA (Critical Environment Work Authorization) process and be accountable for all changes made to the annually reviewed process.

Oversee critical infrastructure design and operations. Review and approve Global Real Estate Services change control process in critical environments. Develop, review and revise infrastructure design standards. Manages compliance processes for approximately 140 Tier 2 and 3 Critical Facilities worldwide. Directly responsible for ensuring 100% uptime of the Bank's most critical assets. Provides technical recovery support worldwide in the event of a critical building environmental outage. Interface with client senior managers in T&O, GCIB and Call Centers to insure proper use of critical infrastructure. Typically has 7+ years of related experience

Responsibilities:

  • Regularly liaise with all Regional Directors (globally), as well as Global Data Center (GDC) Head of engineering, addressing engineering related concerns and providing support for upcoming projects and regional objectives

  • Monitor all Legionella susceptible plant and equipment ensuring weekly logs are up to date and playbook requirements achieved; escalate and manage all Legionella risks and related incidents until normal operations have been restored

  • Oversight of GRES’s Energy and Sustainability (E&S) program which ensures GRES is executing tactics that support bank’s enterprise environmental goals

  • Partner with Global Environmental Group to regularly monitor goal progress for GHG emissions reduction, energy reduction, water reduction, green building certifications and construction and demolition waste diversion

  • Ensure that engineering related projects offer value for money regarding primary equipment

  • Monitor all new engineering and FM incident reports for opportunities for lessons learned examples of preventability, following up as necessary

  • Serve as management interface between GRES, our technology support team and their vendors as well as all FVs for all matters relating to iC3

  • Partner with all other operation team members with particular focus on Environmental Health and Safety, Project Management and Facilities Management

  • Responsible for representing GRES interests and be a voting member of the Date Center Risk Oversight Forum (DCROF)

  • Maintain the upkeep of the Evaluation of Business Needs Template

  • Integrate with other service lines to ensure cohesive operational strategies and tactics

  • Enhancement of partnership across facility vendors and internal bank stakeholders

  • Enhancement of reporting and metrics to drive process adherence, effectiveness, and efficiency

  • Process oversight and controls to manage implementation of best practices in partnership with the Bank's outsourced facility partners

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience leading engineering projects and managing third party vendors

  • Strong leader with established expertise in building services engineering and program management

  • Detailed knowledge of construction industry contract language

  • Detailed knowledge of project management

  • Detailed knowledge of large-scale complex engineering systems

  • Strong presentation and documentation skills required for executive level reporting

  • Experience engaging with and managing large outsource relationships

Desired Qualifications:
