Centennial is seeking a Design Engineer to join a well‑established, privately held industrial engineering and fabrication organization in Cincinnati, OH. The company supports major clients across multiple process‑driven industries and delivers engineered equipment, pressure vessels, tanks, and complex fabricated components.

Role Overview

The Design Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining accurate 3D models and fabrication drawings, performing design calculations, and supporting cross‑functional coordination throughout the engineering and manufacturing lifecycle.

You will work closely with engineering, drafting, production, and project management teams to ensure technical accuracy, quality, and efficiency across multiple concurrent projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create highly accurate 3D models of process equipment using Autodesk Inventor
  • Maintain and update models as projects move through engineering and fabrication
  • Perform design calculations for tanks, pressure vessels, and related components
  • Develop, revise, and manage 2D fabrication drawings
  • Generate and maintain bills of material for purchasing and production teams
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and cross‑functional partners to support project execution
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in modeling, drafting, and engineering workflows
  • Perform additional engineering duties as assigned



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Civil preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, calculations, and applicable codes
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to create and revise detailed 2D and 3D drawings
  • Knowledge of steel plate, beams, pressure flanges, and welded equipment (preferred but not required)
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional, collaborative approach
  • Highly organized, self‑motivated, and detail‑oriented
