Job title: Access Specialist I

Reports to: Access Supervisor

Position is not eligible to work
Job purpose

Responsible for customer service, assisting patients in gaining access to all CAT treatment programs, from the initial call to the program admission. Acts as a liaison to community and
referral sources.

Duties and responsibilities

All receptionist functions to include the following: routing phone calls, receiving packages, managing guests/visitors, and facilitating the agency paging system.

Facilitates patient pre-admission screen

Works with community referrals to coordinate payment, continuity of care, and additional needed services to current or prospective patients.

Communicates to other staff regarding patient admission issues by documenting thorough and concise notes as well as communicating through Referral Information, Contact Log and Assign Task.

Conducts patient and belongings searches for residential admissions

Management of stored items

Data entry as assigned

Participate on committees as assigned.

Enhance professional growth and development through in-service trainings and workshops as required by the Staff Development Plan.

Job duties may be increased, decreased, or combined as the needs of the agency dictate.

Schedule may vary dependent upon peak times of admissions or as required by agency needs.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional education in social sciences preferred. Previous experience in healthcare or customer
service setting preferred. Must be computer proficient.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.

    CFR Part 2 laws, and other Federal Regulations protecting patient privacy and rights.
  • Patient Rights- Adheres to all patient rights standards as well as serves as a resource to patients regarding those rights.
