Health Information Management Technician - CBO Medical Records Services - Full Time - Days
Job Description
The Scanning Technician is responsible for picking up, preparing, scanning, and the quality assurance of any and all forms used to document patient care into the clinical information system.
Responsibilities
| Pick up charts from various areas within the hospital.

| Prepares charts for scanning. 1. Ensures patient labels are accurate/correct on all documents to be scanned. 2. Ensures that the appropriate barcode is properly affixed to each non-barcoded document 3. Investigates any and all forms with no patient labels affixed for accurate prepping.

| Performs Quality Assurance and Deficiency Completion on Scanned Documents

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
EDUCATION: High School graduate or equivalent
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in Health Information Management preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Protect the security of medical records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained. Knowledge of medical terminology. Position requires ability to interact with various individuals. Good communication skills, attention to detail, data entry skills, knowledge of PC and printer operations, telephone etiquette, use of copy machine and fax machine.
