KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s degree in the area in which they will be providing tutoring, i.e. nursing, math, statistics, biology, etc.,
• A master’s degree in one of the specified disciplines is highly desirable.
• College teaching experience
• NOTE: Candidates must demonstrate that related coursework and/or teaching experience – not clearly specified – is relevant to the work they will be conducting at the college.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
• A minimum of one year of teaching experience, or one year of tutoring experience is required.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• Aptitude for, and commitment to helping students to learn
• Capability to comfortably work and supervise student in the tutoring environment
• Ability to demonstrate capability to collaborate with faculty from across divisions to ensure that the content of the tutoring is consistent with the material presented in class.
• The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate either a familiarity with, or willingness to learn about, issues pertaining contemporary teaching and learning strategies.
• Comfort with online learning environments is also a plus.

Provide individual or group tutoring sessions/workshops
• Develop materials for tutoring sessions/workshops
• Collaborate with others to determine tutoring needs/workshops
• Assist with the evaluation of tutoring sessions/workshops, as needed.
Participate in and attend college events as requested.
Other duties as assigned.
