As our Benefits Manager, you will serve as the senior subject‑matter expert overseeing the design, implementation, compliance, and performance of all team member benefit programs across the system. Your work will directly enhance our team‑member experience and help position The Christ Hospital as one of the region’s top employers of choice.
Strategic Benefits Leadership-
- Lead the implementation, analysis, and administration of health, welfare, retirement, and voluntary benefit programs
- Evaluate plan effectiveness and recommend enhancements that balance cost, competitiveness, and care
- Support long‑term planning through cost modeling, benchmarking, and market trend analysis
Vendor & Plan Administration-
- Manage relationships with TPAs, brokers, carriers, enrollment platforms, and call center partners
- Oversee renewals, SLAs, and support contract negotiations
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of enrollments, premiums, invoices, and eligibility feeds
Compliance & Risk Management-
- Ensure full compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, IRS regulations, and state requirements
- Lead audits, 5500 filings, nondiscrimination testing, and regulatory reporting
- Maintain plan documents, policies, and internal compliance controls
Employee Experience & Communication-
- Design and deliver clear, compelling communication strategies for open enrollment, plan changes, and population health initiatives
- Serve as a trusted escalation partner for complex benefit issues
- Support onboarding and annual enrollment to ensure a seamless experience for all team members
HRIS, Payroll & Data Analytics-
- Partner with HRIS and Payroll to optimize system accuracy, workflows, and automation
- Develop reports, dashboards, and cost projections to guide HR and organizational decision‑making
- Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery and technology
Team & Cross‑Functional Leadership-
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing benefits team
- Partner collaboratively with Payroll, Finance, Legal, HRBPs, and clinical leaders
- Contribute to Total Rewards strategy and special enterprise-wide initiatives
Qualifications-
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
- CEBS certification preferred
- 7+ years of progressive benefits management experience
- Expertise in health & welfare plan design, retirement plans (qualified & non‑qualified), and regulatory compliance
- Strong communication, analysis, vendor management, and presentation skills
- Proven ability to re-engineer procedures, influence change, and drive results
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
