Expected Starting Salary Range: 30.91 - 38.92
Position Level Summary
In-depth conceptual and working knowledge in job area (Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing [CPET] and Cardiac Rehab [CR]); familiarity in related disciplines/specialties. Requires minimal guidance, may lead projects of manageable risk or have accountability for ongoing activities and objectives. Serves as key colleague resource. Executes wide range of complex tasks; takes new perspective on existing solutions. Level at which career may stabilize for many years or until retirement.
Patient Care
Conduct CR and CPET according to established guidelines, as well as testing and fitness evaluation for clinical populations. Develop patient/diagnosis specific testing protocols. Comply with policies and procedures, including protecting patient rights for informed consent and the handling of confidential information as defined by Cincinnati Children's mission and applicable laws and regulations.
Supervisory
Supervise training/practice of staff and student interns, and other staff, including proper use of area equipment. Manage the day-to-day operations of the department. Responsible for scheduling and the efficient and effective utilization of staff resources. Assign and supervise work of exercise program student interns. Supervise the development and execution of exercise programs for program participants. Provide staff with informal coaching and assistance and provides input into the annual performance evaluations. Make job requirements and goals for each position clear to employees and provide sufficient training to achieve the desired level of competency; document evidence of competence on an annual basis. Ensure that orientation and in-service training and continuing education are provided to achieve the desired level of performance. Maintain attendance records.
Training & Education
Provide/generate training materials and programming for instruction of Fellows, residents, and allied health personnel. Conduct in-service on exercise testing/therapy for Fellows, residents and allied health care personnel. Attend required Cincinnati Children's training sessions, including radiation safety, laboratory safety, safety college, patient safety, and OSHA. Comply with infection control policies and procedures.
Equipment Maintenance
Perform first echelon maintenance and calibration of medical instrumentation for exercise testing/therapy and data analysis. Assist in maintenance of exercise equipment to include safety monitoring and periodic cleaning.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Master's degree in related field. May require clinical license, certification or training.
- 7+ years Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing and Cardiac Rehab experience required.
