Position Title: RN Practice Consultant
Department/Unit: CPE
Shift/Hours: Days/ 40hours/week
Hybrid- 2 days remote, 3 days onsite at Kasota
Expected Salary Range: $42.17 - 53.64Mid-point; Salary determined based on years of nursing experience.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced RN Practice Consultant to join our Center for Professional Excellence: Professional Practice Team at Cincinnati Children's. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Shared Governance Program, aligning with the PeriOp site of care, and collaborating with a Healthcare-Associated Condition (HAC) team. This position will involve leading practice changes, handling referrals, supporting the Magnet Recognition Program, and working with organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines. Additionally, the RN Practice Consultant will support recognition efforts such as Nursing Advancement, DAISY Awards, and Nurses Week, and will frequently partner with Information Services (IS), Regulatory & Safety Team, and Materials Management departments.

SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Responsible for a variety of training and development duties throughout the hospital. Much of the work focuses on ensuring that nurses have the skills and training to succeed in their individual units.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
Designs a comprehensive evaluation of professional practice across the system and assist in driving progress toward attainment of optimal outcomes in the division of Patient Services. Evaluates practice in relation to professional practice standards, guidelines, rules, and regulations.
Employing formalized processes, analyzes trending data from the organization and the community to determine practice needs. Reviews literature and publications to promote and ensure evidence-based practice at the point of care and the organization.
Applies a depth of expertise to plan, design and develop best pediatric practices, technologies, and/or support systems to achieve desired practice objectives. Assumes a leadership role in recognizing and communicating practice issues and trends to the point of care leaders through multiple venues. Considers regulatory standards/criteria and CCHMC strategic goals in developing practice initiatives. Determine key business issues and develop appropriate action plans from multidisciplinary perspectives.
Synthesizes information and feedback to influence practice change. Provides direction and consultation to enhance the abilities of others to practice and impact change at the system level. Provide linkage amongst the safety & regulatory teams to the Division of Patient Services. Provide leadership within teams via influencing, collaboration, and focus on results.
Integrates research, EBP & QI findings into practice at the system and community level. Pursues opportunities to conduct or assist key stakeholders in the dissemination of scientific knowledge & best practices via publications and presentations outside of the organization.
