JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Medication Orders - Enters prescriptions into pharmacy software for pharmacist review. Pulls and labels hazardous and nonhazardous medications for pharmacist verification. Demonstrates ability to complete basic pharmacy math calculations for specialty medications.
- Cold Chain Distribution – Prepares packages for delivery following specific cold chain distribution procedures.
- Phone Triage - Performs outpatient phone triage.
- Refills – Contacts patients to schedule refills and conduct disease assessments.
- Insurance - Performs insurance adjudication and troubleshooting.
- Inventory - Receives and enters inventory into pharmacy software.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Technician II
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years’ work experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Certified via Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Registered with Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Registered Pharmacy Technician.
Technician I
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 + years’ work experience (retail or 6-months in hospital setting) as a Pharmacy Technician
- Certified via Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Registered with Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Registered Pharmacy Technician or obtain within 6-months of hire date.
Preferred:
- 1+ year of work experience in specialty pharmacy
