JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Care Delivery/Patient Care - Work directly with clients with significant problem behavior, including aggression, self-injury, property destruction, disruptive behavior, elopement, and pica. Serve as the case lead and guide other staff providing direct care. Develops evidence-based intervention plans based on formal behavioral assessment to reduce problem behavior and build replacement skills. Serve as liaison between CCHMC programs and the client's other service providers and school district personnel. Provides crisis interventions to patients when indicated. Under a psychologist supervisor, design and supervise the application of behavior intervention services for children with developmental disabilities and behavioral disorders. Develop and implement functional behavior assessments, including formal functional analysis, developing function-based behavior plans, and provide parent training and school consultation services. May work in various settings, including intensive behavior clinics, day treatment programs, and community-based settings, to support the generalization of treatment across environments. Train and supervise those providing direct care, specifically in behavior management strategies. Must partner with Psychologist Supervisor per certification requirements.

  • Behavioral Assessment - Assess behavioral profile of patients by implementing preference assessment and functional analysis procedures appropriate to the patient's developmental level and behavioral presentation. Requires strong conceptual and working knowledge in job area Works independently, with moderate level of guidance and supervision Identifies patterns in practice; applies precedent and judgement to make decisions Applies experience / clinical knowledge to accomplish difficult tasks.

  • Documentation and Data Management - Complete all documentation necessary for each patient, including assessment protocols, treatment protocols, graphing of behavioral data, individual service plans, behavior plans, general recommendations, service agreements and treatment summaries. Works with the supervising psychologist to interpret data to make modifications to protocols and behavior plans.

  • Education - Assist in the training of staff regarding behavior reduction strategies. Assist in training of staff in clinic conventions and safety procedures. Assists in community training and events. Conducts parent training and addresses all questions and concerns of parents. Ensures assessment and treatment protocols are implemented with fidelity. Attends weekly supervision meetings with the supervising psychologist and other designated training.

  • Plan of Care - Work with supervising psychologists to develop and conduct behavioral consultation services for school personnel and parents. Work with psychologists to conduct functional analyses and safe, structured intervention for significant problem behavior.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in a related field

  • 2+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.

  • Board Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA)

  • Preferred: History of providing behavioral intervention services to individuals with developmental disabilities and severe behavior disorders, including completing functional behavior assessments and behavior plans.

  • Preferred: Previous experience responding safely to physical resistance from a large young adult.
