Responsible for providing support and/or oversight over the clinical operations related to medical imaging procedures.

Provides leadership and direction through directors and managers, across all sites and modalities. Accountable for the results and performance of a function or functions within the organization. Executes operational plans and influences organizational strategy and objectives. Decisions are guided by organizational strategy and priorities of function, service line, or area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clinical Operations - Ensure the department's operations align with the Medical Center strategic plan. Collaborate with interdisciplinary directors and medical directors to plan, implement and evaluate services. Provide clinical leadership to ensure quality patient care outcomes. Collaborate with other department directors to ensure patient care needs are met. Participate in efforts to improve and refine imaging technology to support patient care. Promote clinical profession by participating in professional activities. Represent CCHMC at local, state and national levels through involvement in professional associations and organizations. Determine avenues to improve the value of care and services at CCHMC.

  • Staffing Strategy and Performance Development - Direct the development and monitoring of an effective staffing and retention strategy, including hiring and terminating employees, workforce planning, succession planning; attracting and retaining top performers, partnering with leadership and Human Resources to develop effective and appropriate recruitment packages, and effective on-boarding programs for staff; effective performance management of direct reports; in partnership with leadership, provide mentoring and development to faculty and other leaders in effective performance management; mentor and provide learning and development opportunities for direct reports; effectively and appropriately leveraging human resources business partners to meet the division's talent management goals; ultimate responsibility for supporting organizational programs/plans that impact employees and ensuring communication, comprehension, and adherence to all Human Resources policies and related legal and/or compliance requirements.

  • Vendor Relationship Management – Build and maintain strong partnerships with vendors to ensure high-quality products, reliable equipment performance, and responsive service support. Collaborate with vendors to address equipment issues, coordinate preventive maintenance, and ensure timely resolution of service needs to minimize downtime and support departmental operations. Partner with vendors to evaluate and assess emerging technologies that align with the department’s strategic goals and advance patient care.

  • Strategic Management - Collaborate with departmental and organizational leadership on long- and short-term strategic planning in alignment with organizational priorities. Support and implement operating priorities through targeted, innovative and responsive solutions. Serve as an organizational advocate and partner with business leaders. Act together with senior leadership as a champion for positive organizational culture and quality of work life. Partner with departmental leadership to ensure appropriate financial management and stewardship.

  • Project Management - Provide leadership for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific large-scale projects ensuring consistency with organizational strategy, commitments and goals. Define project scope, goals, deliverables and resource requirements. Drive completion of projects by collaborators and staff to ensure timely completion of deliverables. Direct assigned team ensuring effective utilization of resources. Monitor project deliverables and report on progress of the project to stakeholders.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Preferred: Master's degree in a related field

  • 10+ years of work experience in Imaging or Radiology

  • Ohio Radiology professional license as applicable to requirement of modality/modalities overseen

  • Preferred: Management/leadership experience
