Child Life Specialist for the Adaptive Care Team

The Child Life Specialists at Cincinnati Children’s are committed to the practice of family-centered care by promoting play, education, developmental and psychosocial support. We are an integral part of the health care team who can support the child’s outpatient visit and inpatient stay. Child Life Specialists can minimize stress and maximize coping of patients and families.
The Adaptive Care Team (ACT) is comprised of Child Life Specialists who are skilled practitioners of adaptation of care for individuals with developmental disabilities and other behavioral health challenges. The team seeks to improve the patient and family medical experience by promoting awareness across the care team and facilitating patient and family coping by focusing on the individual adaptation of care. ACT promotes safe, sensitive care for individuals with developmental and behavioral challenges in the healthcare setting.
ACT is currently recruiting for a Child Life Specialist. This position will work 36 hours per week, primarily day-shift Monday-Friday with some Saturday and holiday rotations.
Candidates must have a Bachelor degree in a related field, successful completion of child life internship under the supervision of a certified CLS, and must be certified as a Child Life Specialist within one year of hire.
