JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow-up and Documentation - Complete required daily/weekly activities and documentation to ensure accurate scheduling, exchange of clinical information, reporting, referrals and charges. Ensure that all documentation is approved by assigned preceptor.
Professional Responsibility and Development - Supports and participates in performance improvement activities. Participates in peer review. Actively participates on specialty team. Completes required training and education and communicates regularly with preceptor, manager and education coordinator. Proactively seeks guidance and advice as needed for case management.
Compliance - Patient Services Staff - Sustain a working understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Support leadership in Compliance efforts to meet and sustain the regulatory compliance efforts of the department and hospital. Be mindful and judicious in monitoring safety and departmental policies and procedures. Ensure all individual certifications and Safety College requirements are fulfilled in a timely basis. Work with department managers, nurse council and magnet representatives to identify and share safety best practices. Be mindful of CCHMCs processes and compliance with CMS standards and freely communicate safety and compliance concerns to leadership team members.
Productivity and Contributions to Revenue - Manages schedule and patient visits to make productive use of time and achieve productivity targets.
Treatment - Formulate, maintain, support, monitor and modify a patient-specific plan for care, treatment and rehabilitation based on the patient's assessment under supervision of assigned preceptor. Plan and coordinate care, treatment and rehabilitation for discharged patients.
Diagnostic Evaluations - Perform all routine and some specialty diagnostic evaluations under supervision of assigned preceptor. Choose and administer appropriate tests according to standard procedures. Assess communication skills, make accurate diagnoses, appropriate recommendations and referrals. Provide evaluation results and counseling to parents in an effective manner. Determine discharge criteria and prepare patient for discharge or transition as appropriate
Patient Care - Age Specific and Culturally Inclusive- Consistently integrates age specific and culturally inclusive concepts into patient care, taking into consideration both the patient's chronological age and developmental functioning.
JOB QUALIFICIATIONS
AuD or PhD candidacy
4th year of an accredited graduate program in Audiology
Eligible for state licensure after 12 months of the Professional Experience Year
Preferred: Related pediatric experience
