Molecular Pathology Tech II or III

Hours: M-F 1pm-9:30pm, weekend and holiday rotations are required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Lab Specific Duties - Perform routine patient testing for the Molecular Pathology and/or Immunology laboratories. Ensure that the laboratory's inventory of supplies and reagents is adequate to accommodate the workload, and alert responsible parties when it is not. Perform routine maintenance of instrumentation and equipment and alert responsible parties when discrepancies occur. Maintain a high level of attention to detail by adhering to the quality assurance guidelines established for the laboratory. Have a thorough understanding of the requirements of the accrediting agency (CAP) and apply that knowledge in all activities. Perform research, development and other outside projects in a timely manner as directed by the laboratory supervisor or director. Advanced understanding and experience with molecular methods. Advanced troubleshooting of PCR assays. Ability to design and or validate clinical molecular assays.
Policy & Procedure - Participate in the development, maintenance, and/or revision of policies, procedures, and/or manuals.
Compliance - Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, such as JCAHO, HIPAA, and/or other accreditation standards. Design and/or implement programs, policies, and/or procedures to ensure compliance. Track laws and regulations that might affect policies and procedures. May prepare compliance reports and communicate results as necessary.
Maintenance - Assist with maintenance of various pieces of equipment. Help maintain/order inventory. Keep work environment well-organized. May troubleshoot and/or correct erroneous results or problems with equipment. May provide appropriate safety/quality monitoring checks and document as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Tech II
Associate's degree in related field (MLT)
Bachelor's degree in related field (MLS, Bio, or Chem)
0+ years of work experience in a related job discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
May require clinical license, certification/training
Tech III
Bachelor's degree in a related field (MLS, Bio, or Chem)
4+ years of work experience in a related job discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) OR Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) with ASCP
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) OR Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) with ASCP
Experience in molecular testing (PCR, NGS, sequencing) strongly preferred
Experience in molecular infectious disease testing (PCR, qPCR) and/or molecular oncology testing (NGS/sequencing)
