Our Surety department is currently seeking a coordinator working in our Large Contract Surety team.

Starting pay: The pay range for this position is $16.82 - $18.00 hourly. The pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.

Be ready to:

  • follow Operations and Bond department best practices
  • handle a moderate to high level of customer service by phone and email, effectively, within authority and independently
  • document procedures and processes for Surety manual
  • train with the goal of achieving improvement and independence
  • process new business, renewals, endorsements and cancellations of policies and bonds within authority or as directed by underwriter
  • maintain files, prepare documents, and do mailings
  • code and rate bonds
  • data entry in various department applications and company systems
  • research and resolve accounting discrepancies
  • act as direct contact with accounting and agents to solve discrepancies without having to involve underwriter
  • assist in verifying and recording data for annual reinsurance treaty renewal
  • communicate verbally and in writing with agents, managers, underwriters, Surety field representatives and Accounting
  • understand and apply Operations and Surety department best practices
  • handle basic to moderate level of customer service by phone and email, effectively and within authority
  • complete all daily activities with minimal guidance from senior coordinators, other coordinators or team manager, showing an increased level of independence and decision-making capability, within guidelines
  • process agency changes/transfers and closings on policies and bonds
  • assist in training/mentoring of new coordinators with assistance from senior coordinator
  • ask for, volunteer, and willingly accept extra assignments, such as coordinating projects as directed by supervisor or team manager

Be equipped with:

  • exhibit good communication and listening skills
  • keyboarding skills of 50 WPM
  • develop problem solving skills
  • recognize when to ask questions
  • possess basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
  • build positive relationships with agents, team members, all department associates and agency accounting
  • exhibit strong, clear and concise communication skills
  • employ effective problem-solving skills
  • maintain awareness of and help with team needs and goals; offer ideas for improvements, help plan for travel, and assist with backlog
  • remain calm and patient under tough or stressful circumstances
  • effectively manage an increased workload, including extra assignments
  • develop and actively demonstrate a positive attitude, friendly and approachable, assist others and adapt to a changing environment
  • manage time effectively
  • demonstrate ability to multitask
