Our Corporate Legal department seeks a corporate legal attorney. This position will report to our Headquarters in Fairfield, OH. The focus of this position is to assist in providing legal advice to various entities and operational areas within The Cincinnati Insurance Companies. This is a staff corporate counsel position with direct reporting to an associate corporate counsel. The position has considerable room for professional growth and advancement
Starting salary: The pay range for this position is $90,000- $145,000 annually. Pay is based on the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.
Be ready to:
- provide timely and efficient legal advice to internal customers in a dynamic business and legal environment on varied matters of property casualty insurance, insurance company operations, underwriting and management
- assist management in identifying and containing legal risk
- partner with key stakeholders to further corporate development and execute on business initiatives
- perform special projects and other duties as assigned
- manage outside counsel in outsourced legal work such as general litigation, insurance regulatory disputes and other operational areas
- offer practical and solution-focused legal advice that furthers business objectives while ensuring alignment with company policies and standards, as well as compliance with statutory, administrative and regulatory law
Be equipped with:
- a solid understanding of insurance underwriting, claims handling and regulation
- analytical and problem-solving skills
- interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
- the ability to perform multidisciplinary collaboration
- a proven record of being an ambitious and conscientious team player
Bring education and experience from:
- a law degree from an ABA accredited law school
- an active license to practice law in Ohio or from another state bar
- in-house insurance experience
- minimum 5 years legal experience
