The Loss Control Department is currently seeking a Loss Control Technical Specialist – Water and Temperature Detection. This position will drive the enterprise-wide strategy and execution of CIC’s Commercial Water and Temperature Sensor Program through risk mitigation and IoT-enabled solutions. Responsibilities for these positions may be fulfilled remotely, working from home, but require periodic travel to our Fairfield, OH headquarters and within the assigned territory and to meetings and seminars.

The pay range for this position is $90,000 - $156,000 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.

Be ready to:

  • define and execute a multi-year roadmap for sensor-driven risk management, positioning the program as a market differentiator
  • mobilize resources and foster collaboration across business units to achieve scale and deliver economic impact through improved risk safety and underwriting performance
  • develop and manage program plans with clear milestones, KPIs, and success metrics to monitor progress and ensure accountability
  • build and maintain relationships with senior leadership, agency partners, industry organizations, and strategic customers to drive adoption and influence market direction
  • identify emerging trends and technologies to keep our program at the forefront of commercial IoT solutions
  • represent the organization as a subject matter expert at industry forums, conferences, and roundtables
  • oversee strategic partnerships with technology providers and startups to ensure seamless integration and performance
  • provide actionable insights and recommendations to business leaders based on program analytics and market intelligence

Be equipped with:

  • in-depth knowledge of IoT solutions, data analytics, predictive analysis & modeling, and commercial risk management practices
  • proven ability to lead enterprise-level strategic initiatives and deliver measurable business outcomes
  • exceptional influence and consensus-building skills across diverse stakeholder groups
  • understanding of commercial insurance operations, particularly underwriting and pricing strategies
  • expertise in innovation management, with a track record of adapting to market shifts and driving adoption of new technologies
  • strong executive communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging C-suite and external stakeholders
  • highly organized, results-oriented, and adept at managing complex programs in dynamic environments

Bring education and experience from:

  • 10+ years of experience in strategic leadership roles within insurance, risk management, or related fields
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
