The Headquarters Claims department is currently seeking a claims casualty manager. Successful candidates must have the ability to convey the vision and goals for casualty claims to its teams, members and across the enterprise. This position will report to the manager of headquarters claims.
Be ready to:
prepare daily P&C claims financial reports for executive claims leadership
review and approve large casualty loss reserves in excess of $500,000
review and approve coverage analysis, defense strategy and interplay of both in large casualty claims
mentor regional casualty managers, casualty litigation specialists, and Field Claim personnel
participate in the development of systems, processes and procedures of service and benefit to effective casualty claim handling
identify and disseminate relevant topics of interest and educational opportunities to regional casualty managers, casualty litigation specialists, and Field Claims personnel
Be equipped with:
demonstrated leadership qualities and mentoring experience which provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities needed to lead, develop, direct and support multiple teams of HQ-based and remote associates
experience in a leadership role with a proven history of delivering on key initiatives
ability to articulately communicate and present to all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
ability to build relationships and influence cross-functional leaders while communicating effectively and tactfully with all levels of the organization
highly effective collaborator and influencer
practical understanding of analytics and metrics and experience in developing success criteria
extensive experience in casualty coverage analysis and litigation management
high-level comprehension of case law and regulations in all areas of operation
strong analytical and problem-solving skills
demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills
experience in the development of coverage forms and endorsements
strong coaching abilities to guide casualty associates of all experience levels
the ability to communicate expectations and hold associates accountable
Bring education and experience from:
qualified candidates have earned a bachelors' degree or have equivalent related work experience and insurance specific certifications
