Our Cincinnati Specialty Underwriters Producer Resources (CSUPR) department is current seeking a compliance manager. This role is responsible for overseeing compliance reporting analysts for both the brokerage (CSUPR) and the carrier (CSU), Cincinnati Specialty Underwriting. This role will provide support with workflow monitoring and collaborating with various departments internally and externally to avoid fines and penalties, remain compliant, and contain the company's reputational risk.
The pay range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.
Be ready to:
- set direction for compliance operations and ensure best practices are being followed
- supervise all human resources matters related to compliance reporting analysts associates, including hiring and staffing efforts
- develop and implement process improvements
- oversee reporting and compliance training for underwriting assistants
- develop effective working relationships with the entire operations and underwriting teams
- control procedures and content on the department Sharepoint site
- oversee all state audit requests and assign as appropriate to other compliance analysts
- work directly with legal and leadership on compliance matters
- stay current and understand all compliance related issues applicable to both the brokerage CSU Producer Resources (CSUPR) and carrier CSU-personal lines
- maintain state-by-state compliance manuals and reference guides for areas supported
- monitor state laws and regulations for changes that may affect the surplus lines business, in conjunction with our legal department, as required
- be proficient in completing and reconciling discrepancies of all state tax filing and surplus lines affidavit and due diligence reports for excess & surplus personal lines and brokerage policies
- coordinate and negotiate any proposed surplus lines fines with state departments of insurance or surplus lines stamping offices
- work in partnership with personal lines, CSU/C-SUPR management, and various company departments to assist with creating compliance related reports
- assist with direct compliance filing as needed in support of excess & surplus high new worth personal lines and brokerage policies
- oversee compliance analyst responsibility for acquiring and maintaining all agent and state broker licenses and maintains current documentation on licensing requirements by state for excess & surplus personal lines operations
- conduct self-audits, and all department of insurance audits, as required by management of state departments of insurance
- communicate all necessary compliance, tax, and other surplus lines information to the brokerage, personal lines underwriting staff, and relevant management
- maintain internal document of state surplus lines export and advises underwriting management and staff on changes as they occur
Be equipped with:
- strong attention to detail
- ability to handle large volume/workload while maintaining accuracy
- property and casualty insurance experience
- ability to communicate and negotiate verbally and in writing
- organizational skills to prioritize responsibilities within set deadlines
Bring education or experience from:
- a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- regulatory, legal, or compliance experience (required)
- experience with market conduct exams or state audits (preferred)
- licensing experience (preferred)
