Our Regulatory and Compliance department seeks a property & casualty compliance specialist. This role is responsible for preparing reports, monitoring mailboxes and incoming documents, preparing responses to regulatory inquiries and performing other regulatory duties.
Be ready to:
- assist compliance examiners with analyzing, distributing and following up on new insurance regulations
- complete required fines and penalties, complaint reports and assigned data calls with minimal oversight
- monitor departmental mailboxes for incoming notifications then handle or distribute appropriately
- assist with assigned workers’ compensation and auto plan annual renewals, including preparing related proxies and voting
- maintain the department’s SharePoint site and select files within it
- verify and maintain annual certificates of authority for various subsidiaries
- maintain and update our agents for service of process records as needed
- review and distribute consumer complaints
- complete filing submissions, such as wind pool, NY Free Trade, Canadian Auto, WC Longshore & Harbor workers, etc.
- act as the department records coordinator to ensure document retention guidelines are followed
- assist with AI governance procedures, project assessment logs and follow ups
- handle calls and emails to the privacy line and inbox
- review the Office of Foreign Asset Control list and investigate name matches
- conduct periodic reviews of policies, procedures and training
- serve as a backup to other Regulatory and Compliance roles
Be equipped with:
attention to detail to ensure accuracy of all prepared documents
strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- knowledge of insurance products or insurance regulations (preferred)
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- effective time management skills with the ability to promptly turnaround time-sensitive documents
- ability to work independently and in a team setting
- proficiency in Microsoft® Excel and Word
- desire to pursue additional knowledge through accredited classes and exams
Bring education and experience from:
- three to five years of insurance-related work experience (preferred)
