Student Activities Specialist Overview Cincinnati State Technical and Community College invites applications for a full-time Student Activities Specialist (SAS) in Student Success & Development. The SAS assists the Sr. Director of Student Success & Development and contributes to enriching the quality of student life for Cincinnati State students. The SAS is responsible for organizing and promoting programs such as student clubs/organizations, events and social activities. Includes working with students, staff, community members to create a fun and engaging experience. Additionally, the position helps in planning volunteerism opportunities and service learning for students. This position requires an individual that is professional, detail-oriented, methodical, and dependable with excellent customer service skills. The SSS will support an array of services and information related to student supportive services. Hours of Operation: Monday thru Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm with evenings and Saturdays during campus events. Flexible scheduling during peak periods. Essential Duties - Greet and provide quality customer service to all visitors and students to ensure a positive experience.
- Assist both in person and online students with college resources.
- Assist with campus wide events, programs and partnerships with community organizations on behalf of Student Activities.
- Utilize College Platforms (Colleague/Teams/Excel/Informer) to track and collect data of student activities events, walk-in traffic etc.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvement and refinement to ensure the optimal customer/student experience.
- Support and contribute to meeting Department and institutional student success goals and key performance indicators.
- Maintain the upkeep and policies of the Student Identification (Surge Card) systems for in person and on-line services.
- Assist in maintaining Student Activities websites, social media presence, office e-Forms updates, and other technology.
- Assist in promoting, and maintaining a professional work environment.
- Upholds school policies and regulations throughout all student activities.
- Responsible for maintaining Student Activities promotional materials.
- Responsible for maintaining up to date campus services/resources on behalf of students for both on and off campus.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Flexible working hours determined by campus events and activities.
Minimum Qualifications: - Associate’s degree from an accredited college in a relevant discipline.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in higher education student services that demonstrate skills in student support services, student relations/customer relations.
- Experience and strong competencies in Microsoft Office suite of business software, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to work assigned schedule which may include schedule variations during peak enrollment periods.
Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor degree
- One year of professional experience, ideally within a college student activities office.
- Demonstrated knowledge of issues pertaining to student event planning in higher education.
- Experience coordinating and prioritizing work and activities of self and others.
- Proficient in French or Spanish.
Desired Competencies - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to handle complex situations with diplomacy.
- Excellent computer proficiency and experience collecting and analyzing data.
- Ability to communicate/interact effectively with a diverse professional, staff, community, and student population.
