As an Engineer or Senior Engineer in the Conveyance Capital Planning group, the applicant will assess and plan sewer improvement projects, including development of cost-effective alternatives, cost estimates, and ArcGIS mapping. The applicant will also serve as a Strategic Risk Reduction Initiative (SRRI) Project Engineer. Working in the SRRI program, the applicant will develop target areas for SRRI work; coordinate Intergovernmental Agreements (IGAs); manage several steps within the SRRI program tracking specific task and overall progress; coordinate flow monitoring, model calibration, and I/I reduction effectiveness; analyze data to determine I/I removal effectiveness; coordinate public outreach materials to educate residents, local governments, and potential contractors on SRRI goals and benefits; serve as the primary contact between MSD and local jurisdictions and community groups; coordinate engineering, field operations, and GIS teams to prioritize and track disconnection efforts; and monitor program progress, prepare reports, and recommend improvements based on data and field feedback.

Knowledge of:
Engineering and technology, especially as related to assigned area of responsibility--structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, geotechnical, etc; reinforced concrete design. SENIOR ENGINEER

Each applicant must be a registered professional engineer in the State of Ohio, or in a state with equivalent registration requirements. If not registered in Ohio when appointed, Ohio registration must be obtained during the probationary period.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of registration with the State of Ohio as a Professional Engineer.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Driver's License.

MILITARY EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE EVALUATION
Military education and experience may be substituted for college level course work at the lower and upper division baccalaureate and graduate levels and apprenticeship training at the vocational certificate level on a case by case basis based on the American Council on Education (ACE) Military Guide recommendations.

Each applicant must be enrolled as a Senior in a Bachelor's Degree program in engineering at an accredited college or university, or possess a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.

OR

Possess an Engineer-in-Training Certificate from any state.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Possession of Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is required at the time of hire.

Possession, or ability to get, a valid Driver's License.

Environmental Conditions: Indoor and outdoor environments; exposure to office computer screens; exposure to extremes in weather conditions; work in or with water; work below ground, on slippery or uneven surfaces, on ladders or scaffolds; work around heavy equipment/construction equipment, moving vehicles; exposure to dust, asbestos, exhaust fumes; possibility of working with toxic chemicals, depending on assignment.

Physical Conditions: Essential and other important responsibilities and duties require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting, standing and walking for prolonged periods of time; general manual dexterity required; light and moderate lifting and carrying; must be able to operate assigned vehicle.
