General Statement of Duties

Implements recreation activities either by providing direct service or by providing supervision of those implementing recreation activities. May assist in the planning and promotion of an activity/program or be responsible for the development, planning and implementation of a recreation program. May use a specific skill needed to implement a specialized recreation program.
Must demonstrate an ability to lead participants in a specific recreation activity. Must be willing to take direction from supervisors and managers. Must have excellent interpersonal skills. Must follow Department of Recreation rules, regulations and guidelines, especially those relating to safety and customer service.
NON-SUPERVISORY Recreation Program Leader must be 15 – 17 years of age at the time of hire and must be willing to work under close supervision. Minimum Qualifications (KSAs)
