Job Title: QA Tester

Location: Hybrid/Remote – (Must be US-based in one of the following states: OH, IN, KY, WI, WA, VA, UT or TX. Sponsorship not available.)

Job Type: Full-Time (37.5 hours/week)

Pay Range: $67,500 – $72,000 (Commensurate with experience)

Job Summary

The QA Tester ensures the delivery of reliable, high-quality software by evaluating new and existing applications to identify defects, validate functionality, and support overall product performance. This role uses established QA practices, conducts manual and (where applicable) automated testing, and works closely with technical and business teams to enhance user experience, maintain compliance, and support continuous improvement throughout the software development lifecycle.

In this role, you will:

  • Work across core systems—including Microsoft Dynamics/CRM and related applications—that power COA’s programs, billing, and reporting.
  • Help protect sensitive data by aligning testing practices with HIPAA and PHI requirements.
  • Partner with developers, analysts, and business owners to ensure our technology meets real-world needs.

How You’ll Make a Difference

Quality & Compliance

  • Apply established QA practices to validate stability, accuracy, and functionality.
  • Ensure all testing meets HIPAA, PHI, and internal compliance standards.
  • Support release readiness through testing sign-off and risk assessment.
  • Help standardize QA practices across projects.

Testing Execution & Validation

  • Perform manual and (as appropriate) automated testing across applications, integrations, and web platforms.
  • Execute detailed test plans, test cases, and scripts aligned with user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Conduct regression and performance testing after fixes or releases.
  • Evaluate real-world user scenarios and integration points to enhance test coverage.

Defect Identification & Management

  • Document defects clearly, including reproducible steps and expected vs. actual results.
  • Create and track defect tickets; support prioritization decisions.
  • Participate in defect triage and validate fixes with targeted regression testing.

Project & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Participate in planning meetings to anticipate testing needs, dependencies, and risks.
  • Collaborate with developers, PMs, business analysts, and business users to resolve issues.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by defining scenarios and consolidating feedback.
  • Advocate for quality from early design through deployment.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain thorough testing records using established tools and templates.
  • Update and enhance test cases, regression suites, and checklists for repeatable testing.
  • Recommend improvements based on patterns, root causes, and user feedback.
  • Contribute to a culture of quality and continuous learning.

  • Testing: Manual testing, automated testing (where applicable), regression, performance, UAT
  • Collaboration: Agile teams across IT, Finance, Operations, and Programs

Qualifications

To ensure success in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and QA certifications.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing, QA analysis, or a comparable role.
  • Experience testing complex systems; healthcare or HIPAA-regulated environments strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics/CRM is preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial or billing systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand business processes and translate them into testing requirements.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to learn new testing methods.

  • Ability to travel in/to Ohio for training as required.
