Job Description

Support development and enhancement of the DHL Supply Chain (DSC) North America Center of Excellence for Performance Management responsibilities. Lead a wide scope of programs and projects and reporting responsibilities to add value to the DSC North America Business and/or Functional teams.

  • Lead value adding strategic programs and projects, including standard programs like DSC’s Divisional Performance Management and Internal Control Systems programs, and ad-hoc needs and/or analyses.
  • Deliver value-add content for Operations Excellence executive needs for BRMs and MRPs.
  • Way of Working,
  • Deploy programs and projects in all North America sectors by working with sector teams for success, including short and long-term planning, resource balancing, communications, and problem solving.
  • Project management from beginning to end, including ensuring that all cross-sector and/or cross-functional project participants are meeting deadlines, to reach the overall project completion date goal.
  • Proactively inform leadership of project accomplishments and challenges
  • Selling of projects with informal and formal presentations to all levels of the DSC North America and Global organization, including educating on the value-add of projects, accomplishments, challenges, and next steps.
  • Uncover, understand, and create solutions for nuances in global projects to be a best fit for North America
  • Liaison between North America and DSC Global, including representing North American interests on global initiatives.Active participation in global project calls, including at non-traditional work hours (6am and 7am ET calls are common for this role)
  • Lead and develop team members with direct report(s) and/or CoE teammate support.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

  • Recruitment and Selection: determine labor needs; understand and use the Company’s interviewing process and tools; implement on boarding.
  • Managing & Rewarding Performance: set clear performance expectations; provide regular feedback and reviews; resolve team conflicts; encourage a positive and safe environment; use coaching and corrective action for underperformance; understand and use voluntary/involuntary termination processes.
  • Training & Development: understand and coach others on processes, tools and standards (SOP’s); ensure training requirements are met; identify and address skill gaps; discuss career interests.
  • Communication & Engagement: communicate company, and other pertinent information to team (pre shift, one on one, etc.); share customer and DSC information on regular basis.

Required Education and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience with real supply chain issues for company(s) in one of our sectors—either full-time or academic internship, required
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Logistics or related field, required
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in at least one of the following: strategy development and implementation, operations management, or organization design and implementation, preferred
  • Experience as a management consultant or working in a strategic role, preferred
