Job Description
DHL Supply Chain is looking for a Transportation Compliance Analyst (Transportation Business and Accounting Analyst)to support our thriving Dedicated Transportation business in Westerville, Ohio, headquarters.
This position will perform a variety of financial, accounting, administrative, and analytical tasks in support of our dedicated fleet operations which serve numerous customers across several industry verticals, with over 2,000 pieces of over-the-road equipment. The position will be an important member of a broader functional team dedicated to our Transportation business including a routing group, fleet management, human resources, IT/systems, and finance.
Responsibilities
- Processing invoices for repair and maintenance services and lease costs. Performing exception handling on invoice errors and overdue invoices as needed.
- Allocating lease, repair/maintenance, and other costs to DHL operating sites per agreed methodologies.
- Auditing supplier invoices to ensure use of correct rates and reviewing invoices to ensure proper application of agreed purchase order and approvals processes.
- Calculating and booking necessary accruals and adjustments related to fleet operating costs.
- Performing monthly reporting/analysis and assistance with month-end close procedures.
- Maintaining the over-the-road equipment database to ensure accurate and timely upkeep.
- Supporting development and rollout of KPI dashboards related to the over-the-road fleet.
- Processing, tracking, and maintaining all lease and repair and maintenance contract schedules.
- Ensuring schedules reflect agreed rates, terms, and counts.
- Interfacing directly with vehicle and maintenance suppliers, as well as DHL site managers.
- Supporting the vehicle accident repair process and coordinating the processing of accident claims with the DHL Risk group.
- Identifying/reviewing charges for physical damage and miscellaneous charges with Op Manager.
- Assisting with administration of license/registration, fuel tax, and other transportation-related compliance activities.
- Ensuring certain fleet-related SOPs are accurate and up-to-date, and that they are understood and followed by associates at DHL’s operating sites.
- Assisting with the tracking key milestones of during equipment acquisition and disposition.
- Helping to ensure equipment changes (ex. transfers, relocations, disposals) are accurately reflected across platforms and programs.
- Assisting with the setup, processing, and tracking of capital purchase requests and invoices for cameras and other fleet systems.
- Handling requests for Titles, Powers of Attorney, and various certificates.
- Other ad hoc projects as directed by management.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Transportation, or other related field
- 2-5 years of hands-on finance/accounting experience, preferably in roles including operational or administrative support and month-end close responsibilities
- Preferential consideration will be given to candidates with experience in over-the-road transportation, equipment leasing, compliance, and/or fleet management
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manipulate large amounts of data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Hyperion Essbase and Oracle GL experience also a plus
- Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities simultaneously
- Strong oral and written communication skills, plus strong command presence and ability to interface individually with external service providers
