DHL Express is looking for an Operations Process Improvement Specialistwho will be responsible for area operations which include service centers throughout the Southeastern region footprint based out of Miami, FL. The Operations Process Improvement Specialist will provide day-to-day support to the Sr. Director of Operations and will provide support at various service center locations to ensure efficient and timely pick-up and delivery of customer materials and shipments. He/She will ensure compliance with safety, security, regulatory, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
o Schedules resources such as people, meetings, appointments, rooms, equipment, or other resources.
o Prepares high quality presentations, reports, and other documents using word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software packages.
o Develops, implements, monitors and reports on tools and processes to support the operations group.
o Facilitates communications and helps coordinate projects that may involve cross-departmental and/or cross functional team members.
o Responsible for overall efficient and effective Service Center operations regarding pick-up and delivery personnel and services
o Ensures all material is picked up and delivered from/to all area accounts in accordance with DHL guidelines, customer expectations and government regulations
o Ensures safe, efficient and timely handling and transportation of all customer materials. Develops operations plans and budgets based on goals and objectives
o Works with sales management to promote sales growth by advising on customer activities and achieving specific customer call targets
o May manage, coach, and train other operations employees in area locations
o May ensure compliance with import/export regulations, duties, and tariffs in some markets
o Assigns work, sets completion dates, reviews work, and manages performance in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and performance management processes

Key Qualifications:
o Typically requires BS/BA and a minimum of 8 years’ experience in related field, including a minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience, military leadership MOS experience
o Professional certification required in some areas
o Has extensive depth of expertise and knowledge in specialized functions or business areas
o A thorough understanding of specific aspects of work supervised and practical application to problems and situations ordinarily encountered
o Develops advanced concepts, techniques, and standards
o Develops new applications based on professional principles and theories
o Serves as consultant to management on major matters pertaining to policies, plans, and objectives.
