Director, M&A Integrations

The Director, M&A Integrations is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing post-merger integration activities to ensure the successful unification of acquired entities with DHL Supply Chain. This strategic leadership role serves as a central point of contact across functional areas, including Finance, HR, IT, Legal, Operations, and Communications—working closely with senior leadership to align strategic goals, ensure accountability, and drive value realization.

The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in supporting cross-functional projects, a strong understanding of business operations, and a strategic mindset. They will lead integration planning during due diligence and support execution post-close, with a focus on communication, risk mitigation, culture alignment, and performance tracking. This position requires exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage comprehensive integration strategies and plans aligned with deal rationale and business objectives
  • Lead pre-close integration planning efforts during due diligence, identifying key risks, dependencies, and value drivers
  • Collaborate with Corporate Development and business leaders to define integration scope, timelines, and success metrics
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (e.g., HR, Finance, IT, Legal, Operations, Marketing) to ensure aligned execution across workstreams
  • Establish and drive governance structures, steering committees, and regular status reporting
  • Track progress against milestones, escalate issues, and drive resolution of integration roadblocks
  • Serve as the central liaison between acquired entities and parent company leadership during transition periods
  • Monitor integration progress and post-deal performance, including synergy capture and cost optimization
  • Conduct post-integration reviews to assess outcomes and lessons learned, applying insights to future integrations
  • Identify and mitigate integration risks through proactive planning and responsive execution
  • Maintain and continuously improve integration playbooks, templates, and tools
  • Champion integration best practices across the organization to enhance future M&A success

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations Management, or industrial engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in strategic planning/execution, mergers & acquisitions, or project management/execution
  • Strong understanding of business models, financial drivers, and strategic rationale for M&A
  • Analytical skills to assess complex data, identify risks and opportunities, and monitor key performance indicators
  • Ability to design and implement plans that capture deal value and drive synergy realization
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders
  • Proactive in identifying and mitigating risks and resolving issues
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and alignment across diverse teams and leadership levels
  • Clear and effective communicator, able to translate complex plans into actionable steps
  • Adaptable and resilient in dynamic, fast-paced environments
  • Demonstrates leadership presence and builds trust across teams and executive stakeholder
