Job Description
The Sr Advanced Analytics Manager is responsible for driving data-driven decision-making across the logistics and supply chain organization by leading advanced analytical capabilities such as descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analytics (excluding machine learning/AI). This role provides strategic oversight of analytical initiatives that optimize operations, improve service levels, reduce costs, and enhance visibility across transportation, warehousing, fulfillment, and customer experience functions.
Responsibilities
• Develop and lead the enterprise analytics strategy to support operational excellence across 3PL and logistics services.
• Identify high-value use cases across the supply chain (e.g., cost-to-serve modeling, demand/supply imbalance analysis, transit time optimization).
• Partner with executive leadership to align analytics priorities with business goals and transformation initiatives.
• Lead and grow a team of analysts, data engineers, and business intelligence (BI) professionals.
• Build a center of excellence (CoE) around analytics tools, standards, and methodologies.
• Provide actionable insights on warehouse operations, transportation efficiency, asset utilization, and order lifecycle metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement through analytics on KPIs like OTIF, inventory turnover, order fill rate, route adherence, and SLA compliance.
• Oversee development of dashboards, scorecards, and operational reports for cross-functional visibility and decision-making.
• Standardize and automate reporting using tools like Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Qlik.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across reporting environments.
• Work closely with IT, operations, sales, finance, and customer service to define analytical requirements and deliver impactful insights.
• Drive adoption of insights through storytelling, stakeholder education, and embedded reporting.
Required Education and Experience
• 10+ years of experience in analytics, with at least 5 years in logistics, 3PL, or supply chain environments, required.
• Deep understanding of warehouse operations, order fulfillment, transportation networks, and cost structures, required.
• Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and enterprise BI platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.), required.
• Experience with statistical modeling, simulation, linear programming, and optimization (excluding advanced AI/ML), required.
• Familiarity with supply chain data sources: TMS, WMS, ERP, OMS, GPS/telematics, and EDI data streams, required.
• Knowledge of data engineering pipelines and collaboration with data teams, required.
• Strong communication and data storytelling skills, able to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders, required.
• Lean Six Sigma or supply chain certification (e.g., APICS, CSCMP), preferred.
• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift), preferred.
