Job Description

We are seeking a Sr AI Manager to lead the strategic design, development, and operationalization of artificial intelligence solutions across the logistics and supply chain value chain. This senior leader oversees a team of data scientists, machine learning engineers, and AI product managers, and is responsible for delivering high-impact AI capabilities that drive automation, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making within warehousing, transportation, order fulfillment, and customer service functions.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the AI roadmap aligned with enterprise goals in logistics and supply chain optimization.

• Identify and prioritize high-impact AI initiatives across 3PL functions: route optimization, demand forecasting, labor planning, network design, inventory management, etc.

• Evangelize AI adoption and transformation across internal stakeholders and external partners.

• Lead, mentor, and scale a cross-functional team of AI/ML experts, data scientists, engineers, and product managers.

• Oversee AI program delivery timelines, resource allocation, vendor engagement, and stakeholder communication.

• Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning.

• Guide the design and development of AI/ML models (e.g., predictive ETAs, slotting optimization, dynamic pricing).

• Champion MLOps best practices, ensuring reproducibility, scalability, explainability, and governance of all deployed models.

• Establish guardrails for ethical AI use and compliance (e.g., bias reduction, data privacy, regulatory adherence).

• Collaborate with operations, IT, product, and sales leaders to translate logistics challenges into AI opportunities.

• Track and report business impact (e.g., cost savings, service level improvements, operational efficiency) of AI deployments.

• Develop business cases and support C-suite in AI investment decisions and scaling initiatives.

• Contribute to the evolution of the company’s AI/ML platform and tooling strategy (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake).

• Evaluate and integrate external data sources (e.g., weather, traffic, customs data) and logistics tech (e.g., telematics, IoT).

• Engage with academia, startups, and strategic partners to stay at the cutting edge of AI in logistics.

Required Education and Experience

• 10+ years of experience in AI/ML leadership roles, with at least 5 years in logistics, 3PL, or supply chain contexts, required.

• Deep understanding of operations such as warehouse management, fleet optimization, freight forecasting, order routing, and SLA adherence, required.

• Strong grasp of machine learning, deep learning, optimization algorithms, and real-time analytics, required.

• Familiarity with cloud AI platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure), MLOps pipelines, and modern data architecture (e.g., lakehouses), required.

• Experience in driving change management for AI adoption across non-technical business units.

• Certifications in cloud platforms or AI/ML engineering, preferred.

• Experience with AI in transportation, fulfillment networks, real-time visibility platforms, or robotics, preferred.
