We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Material Handling Engineer to support in pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturing. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and optimizing material handling systems that ensure compliance with regulatory standards, enhance operational efficiency, and maintain product integrity throughout the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize material handling systems for pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing environments, including cleanroom logistics and controlled environments.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, FDA and any other regulations in all material handling processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the integration of automated systems such as AGVs, conveyors, and robotic handling equipment.
- Develop and implement procedures for material flow, storage, and inventory control to support production and quality requirements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure safety in material handling operations.
- Support validation and qualification of material handling equipment and systems.
- Provide technical expertise during audits and inspections related to material handling and logistics.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and operations staff on best practices in material handling and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in material handling engineering within pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of Good Engineering Practice (GEP), cGMP, GDP, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience with automated material handling systems and cleanroom logistics.
- Proficiency in CAD software and material flow simulation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
- Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent is a plus.
