Reviews and monitors the timely confirmation and accuracy of inbound inventory, outbound shipments, and book adjustment transactions to ensure accurate inventory management records - Coordinates and performs the taking of physical inventories in accordance with the manufacturers’ requirements, investigates inventory variances; directs the performance of daily/weekly cycle counts and adjusts inventory records if necessary - Coordinates the delivery/pick up of materials from supply room, if applicable to operation - Coordinates the activities associated with product recalls upon request - Coordinates the on going re-profiling, determines proper ratio of on-line to off-line, reviews the changes of seasonal freight and the space capacities throughout the different seasons - Monitors the activities associates with customer return shipments including overages, shortages and dumping, reconditioning, or returning to producing plant - Supervises all inventory control personnel, if any, to achieve objectives relating to inventory control management, provides communication and suggests inventory improvements to supervisor. - Provides back up to purchasing agent, if necessary - Keys receipts of materials, if necessary - Effectively communicates with associates and customers in person and via telephone, verbally and nonverbally to accomplish necessary objectives - Effectively review performance of subordinates, if any, to ensure compliance to requirements. - Performs other duties as assigned. People Management Responsibilities [Refer to Exel Experience for additional information] Recruitment and Selection: determine labor needs; understand and use the Company’s interviewing process and tools; implement on boarding (Passport orientation, etc.). Managing & Rewarding Performance: set clear performance expectations (Passport, Performance Management Process); provide regular feedback and reviews; resolve team conflicts; encourage a positive and safe environment; use coaching and corrective action for underperformance; understand and use voluntary/involuntary termination processes. Training & Development: understand and coach others on processes, tools and standards (SOP’s); ensure training requirements are met; identify and address skill gaps; discuss career interests. Communication & Engagement: communicate site, company, and other pertinent information to team (pre shift, one on one, etc.); share customer and Exel information on regular basis


Inventory Control Supervisor

The Inventory Control Supervisor role has a national salary range of $55,000 - $90,000.

For roles within California the range is $68,640 - $90,000 and Washington is $77,969 - $90,000.

Job Description

To provide guidance and coordination of the non-exempt Inventory Control Team daily activities necessary to maintain accurate inventory records relative to the client service level agreement.The Inventory Control Supervisor will assist site Inventory Control and Operations Leadership and Operations Peers in assessing inventory inaccuracies and recommending corrective action necessary to support continuous process improvement and operational excellence.

  • Ensure customer inventory control accuracy and shrink contractual requirements / service level agreements are monitored and reported timely to site leadership
  • Maximize the performance of the site inventory processes and system to ensure: Care, custody, and control of customer inventory; Accuracy (to floor and customer book); Proper utilization of information technology
  • Provide required documentation to customer, customer’s financial statement auditor or appropriate regulatory auditor in support of compliance requirements
  • Ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for associates
  • Conduct associate performance reviews, individual development plans and succession plans
  • Ensure company policies are communicated, administered, and enforced at appropriate levels
  • Ensure associates have proper training and access to the necessary tools to perform their assigned

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent 4 years experience, required
  • Some knowledge of inventory control, preferred
  • Knowledge of systems such as JDA, Manhattan, WMS, DMPLUS, SAP, etc. required
