Job Description
Lead in the delivery of consistent operational processes and results for a specific customer account. Studies and records time, motion, methods, and speed to improve efficiency and establish a standard production rate in performance of maintenance production, clerical and other worker operations. Provides support and troubleshooting for current operations. Led the process of investigating, gathering, and analyzing data regarding sequence of operations and workflow to improve efficiencies at customer site and/or production facilities as well as equipment layouts; establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facility and personnel and make recommends and/or implements solutions.
- Works in conjunction with site management team regarding operational performance and reports findings/recommendations to General Manager and/or Senior Director with primary customer contact.
- Innovates and implements cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas of moderate scope.
- Applies electronic tools across a broad range of applications, including SAP, AutoCAD, MS Project and Production Engineer Labor Standards, modelling and simulations.
- Develops and implements plans to support warehousing/logistics operations. Designs operations layouts.
- Improves production flow and presentation.
- Monitors, compiles and reports Key Performance Initiative (KPI).
- Leads team studies related to capacity, energy, productivity and efficiency of moderate scope.
- Leads analysis, development and implementation of new operations processes and technology.
- Champion Continuous Improvement Process initiatives across customer site.
- Ensure the transfer of best practices across customer sites.
- Execution of Customer projects / strategic initiative(s).
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
- Basic concept of a warehouse operation (inbound, putaway, pick, pack, ship), required
- Capable of using Auto CAD and making layout changes required
- Familiar with basic concept of continuous improvement and can identify low hanging fruit opportunities within an operation, required
- Performs GEMBA walks with operations team, required
- Can perform a time study and convert it to meaningful data), required
- Can use flowcharting software and can outline process steps), required
- Learning to communicate/interact with outside organizations (vendors, customers and government), required
- Utilizes conventional or routine approaches to problem solving, but shows the ability to think beyond the obvious solutions, required
- Develop relationships with vendors, suppliers, operators, and support functions for problem solving, required
- Capable of identifying a problem, required
- Strengthen communication skills across various levels with the organization, required
- Ability to gain understanding of processes to identify areas of opportunity, required
- Contract Administration experience, preferred
- Metric Development and Project Management experience, required
- Able to clearly present information through the spoken word; influence or persuade others through oral presentations in positive or negative circumstances; listens well
- Able to write clearly and effectively present ideas and to document activities; to read and interpret written information, required
- Negotiating Skills preferred
- Able to define realistic, specific goals and objectives. Able to prioritize objectives effectively. Goals must be measurable and time bound, preferred
- Presentation – extensive skills in communicating – both verbal and written – using MS Office tools, Visio, and other complex software tools
