Job Description

The Director, Business Data Analytics is responsible for setting and executing the data analytics strategy to support data-driven decision making across the organization. This role partners closely with Operations, IT, and cross-functional leaders to identify, prioritize, and deliver analytics use cases that improve visibility, performance, and predictive capabilities. The Director oversees the development and engagement of the analytics community, expands analytics capabilities and tools, and champions a transition from hindsight-focused analysis to real-time and forward-looking insights.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, engagement, and career growth of the Data Analytics community, including Analysts, Senior Analysts, and Business Analytics Managers.
• Formalize learning, development, and recruiting practices to build a consistent, high-performing analytics organization.
• Prioritize analytics use cases, align resources, and ensure delivery of solutions that address key business problems and opportunities.
• Partner with IT and analytics program teams to determine optimal data architecture, tools, and technologies.
• Translate complex analytical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences and senior leaders.
• Develop multi-year analytics strategies, product roadmaps, and organizational plans that align with broader business goals.
• Evaluate, validate, and implement new analytics technologies and tools to enhance data accessibility and decision-making capabilities.
• Provide regular updates and thought leadership to executive teams, serving as a key analytics advisor across the organization.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related technical field, required.
• 5+ years of analytics experience, including ownership of large-scale analytical initiatives, required.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and developing talent in analytics or technical environments, required.
• 2+ years of experience with data architecture, warehousing, and big data technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS, Hadoop), required.
• Proficiency with scripting languages and analytical tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Jupyter), required.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts confidently to non-technical and executive audiences, required.
• Experience with machine learning, optimization techniques, and BI project lifecycles (requirements ? deployment), required.
• Knowledge of logistics and/or transportation operations is strongly preferred.
