Job Title: Dispatch Agent
Job Location: Laredo, TX
We have an exciting opportunity for a Dispatch Agent to support and coordinate the daily operational activities of customer accounts. This position will be based at the Laredo, TX location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and monitor daily dispatch activities for inbound and outbound shipments
- Communicate shipment status updates to internal teams, carriers, and customers
- Schedule, assign, and track drivers and equipment to ensure timely pick-ups and deliveries
- Review customer requests and service requirements and allocate resources accordingly
- Prepare and update dispatch records in computerized systems including logs, delivery tickets, orders, and tracking tools
- Ensure all shipments comply with established procedures, regulations, and safety standards
- Maintain visibility on freight movements and proactively address delays, exceptions, and service issues
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure shipments are prepared and staged for dispatch
- Support inventory accuracy by ensuring correct documentation and timely system updates
- Utilize radio, phone, and digital communication systems to relay instructions to drivers
- May assist with customer service inquiries related to shipment status and troubleshooting
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills / Requirements:
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Dispatching, logistics coordination, or transportation operations experience (minimum 2 years preferred)
- Familiarity with freight forwarding, warehouse operations, or trucking industry preferred
- Proficient in computer systems, data entry, and shipment tracking tools
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
- Able to sit, stand, and use communication equipment for extended periods
Pay Range: $18.00/hr. in accordance with the CBA
