The workplace will be at our head office at Berger, Skedsmokorset.

Role purpose and scope

As Country IT Director / CIO, you define, lead and execute the country IT and digital strategy, fully aligned with the country business strategy, Group guidelines and global IT standards.

You ensure that technology:

  • improves profitability, productivity and operational quality
  • strengthens customer experience and competitiveness
  • enables secure, efficient and scalable business operations

The role is a key member of the Country Management Team and acts as a trusted strategic advisor to the business.


Key responsibilities

Strategy and value creation:

  • Define and own the country IT and digital strategy, actively contributing to overall business strategy and planning
  • Identify, structure and prioritize technology‑enabled value creation initiatives aligned with business objectives
  • Translate business needs into value‑driven IT and digital roadmaps, ensuring alignment with global solutions
  • Establish and manage clear business cases, benefits realization and ROI

Delivery, governance and performance:

  • Direct the planning, approval and steering of major IT projects and digital initiatives, including integration and strategic programs
  • Ensure delivery within time, cost and quality constraints, maximizing business impact
  • Establish strong IT governance supporting risk management, compliance and agility
  • Coordinate delivery planning with regional and global IT and PMO structures

Financial and vendor management:

  • Prepare, manage and optimize the country IT budget with strong cost discipline and value orientation
  • Build, manage and monitor relationships with local IT service providers and partners
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure cost efficiency, service quality and flexibility

Leadership and organizational development:

  • Lead and develop the country IT organization
  • Ensure the right organizational structure, capabilities and leadership capacity for current and future business needs
  • Foster a culture of business ownership, accountability and continuous improvement
  • Embed best‑in‑class IT operations, digital practices and operating models

Qualifications and experience:

  • Master’s degree in IT, Technology, Business or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including senior IT leadership responsibility, a proven track record of delivering IT‑driven business transformation and value creation, as well as experience from complex, high‑volume environments.
