As we continue to strengthen our cutting-edge Digital Centre in Milton Keynes, we're looking for a driven and experienced Planning Control Room Manager to take ownership of our control room function—leading real-time decision-making, optimising resource planning, and ensuring seamless service delivery across our operation.

This is a pivotal leadership role where you'll sit at the heart of our operation, coordinating activity, managing performance, and empowering your team to deliver world-class service in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

  • To maximise the performance of the operation by ensuring accurate, detailed planning information to enable the operation to direct the daily, weekly and monthly activities and identify any potential shortfalls
  • Managing a team to monitor and track all KPI's against plan, providing timely and accurate reports in all areas including planned and flex hours, performance levels
  • Accountable for producing accurate, detailed planning information and volume plans
  • Plan, allocate, co-ordinate and adjust staff levels to meet operational requirements in line with defined budgets
  • Support in driving a continuous improvement culture within the operation
  • Scheduling of rota's and work patterns in line with Working Time Directive guidelines
  • To carry out ad hoc projects that both improve and advance the depot planning processes
  • Communicate and liaise with on site agency management to support shortfalls or surplus of hours requirement

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

  • Previous experience within a warehouse environment is essential
  • 3PL experience would be desirable
  • Technical understanding of operations with technical abilities around systems (Excel, Co Pilot, Manhattan & Red Prairie, Chronos, Power BI)

  • Resource planning background

  • Project management would be beneficial

  • Excellent communication skills - Verbal and written
  • Analytical skills
