Job Summary

This role will lead, develop, and control the business and operations at the country-level to achieve short and long-term financial and operating objectives (profitability, revenue, productivity, market share, deployment of human resources and training activities, budget) in line with the DPDHL strategy under the direction of the Country Manager.

Key Tasks

  • Develops business strategies, policies and operating plans of the business; gathers relevant information and direction from senior management and other key DHL business leaders to formulate country objectives that are subject to the approval of the Regional Director.
  • Directs country objectives to ensure annual budget revenue, volume, and profit targets, IKOs, and line profitability goals are met or exceeded.
  • Manages overall synergies between Network, DP DHL, and Americas entities.
  • Oversees the enforcement of corporate policies within the country.
  • Reviews and approves proposed internal policies of subordinate business units to ensure alignment with overall business direction and to conform with prevailing regional and legal requirements.
  • Oversees long-term planning for the country to ensure future growth and development of the business are aligned with overall business objectives; as needed.
  • Presents plans for general review and approval of the Country Manager.
  • Develops and proposes operating and capital expenditure budgets for review and approval by the Regional Director.
  • Analyzes operating results and its principal components relative to established objectives, as needed; makes adjustments and implements new procedures to correct unsatisfactory conditions.
  • Plans and directs all investigations and negotiations pertaining to mergers, joint ventures, and business/major asset acquisition through the direction and approval of the Regional Director.
  • Represents the company as appropriate in its relationships and partnerships with major customers, suppliers, competitors, commercial and investment bankers, government agencies, professional societies and similar groups.
  • Supervises four or more staff; responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developing subordinate staff.
  • Assigns work, sets completion dates, reviews work, and manages performance in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and performance management processes.

Skills and Qualifications

· Minimum of five years of progressively increasing levels of work experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate teams and deliver results.
  • Master of Business Administration degree preferred.
  • Ability to organize, manage, and administer financial, operational, and sales activities across the country.
  • Excellent ability to communicate orally and in writing and in a business setting.
  • Ability to work under extreme pressure.
  • Organizational and high-level planning skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of systems, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Written and spoken fluency in English is mandatory
