We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to architect secure, scalable automation pipelines and lead the execution of our infrastructure reliability and continuous delivery roadmap. In this role, you will lead development and operational excellence in CI/CD automation, environment provisioning, and cloud orchestration, setting the standard for DevOps engineering excellence across the lifecycle. You will turn vision-level infrastructure designs into robust, production-ready systems, acting as a technical mentor for junior engineers and a primary partner for global stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and optimize PostgreSQL database structures and queries.
• Architect and implement standardized container environments across hybrid infrastructures, utilizing OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, and GCP.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software build, testing, and deployment.
• Develop automated tests and perform code reviews to ensure high-quality software.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive improvements.
• Participate in production support, including on-call support, maintenance activities, and production releases.
• Promote the use of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve productivity and code quality.
• Mentor junior engineers and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable solutions.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will drive the successful delivery of secure, scalable, and highly available cloud-native applications by combining software engineering excellence with modern DevOps practices. You will lead technical implementation, automate software delivery pipelines, optimize platform performance, mentor development teams, and continuously improve engineering processes. Your expertise in Java, Spring Boot, OpenShift, PostgreSQL, and DevOps automation will enable the organization to deliver reliable enterprise solutions with speed, quality, and operational excellence.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of professional software or systems engineering experience, with at least 2+ years focused specifically on Production DevOps environments and methodology.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices development.
• Experience with PostgreSQL database design and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with implementing security layers (e.g: Spring Security, encryption layers) for safe transactional management and data privacy compliance.
• Experience supporting enterprise production systems, including incident troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk or Grafana.
• Knowledge of Git, Linux, and scripting.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in Agile teams and participating in on-call production support is an advantage.

Hi, my name is Liang Yet Lew and I’m a team manager. I started my career at DHL IT Services back in 2001, when I took a role as Application Support Specialist in the Customer Service team. Gaining more hands-on experience with solution support and projects has always fascinated me, so from there, I moved fast through the company ladder and soon landed a Team Lead role.
