The Senior Manager – Fleet Operations is responsible for leading fleet operations, asset management, maintenance programs, regulatory compliance, vehicle procurement, and fleet electrification initiatives across the DHL Express network. This position serves as a strategic leader in driving fleet performance, operational efficiency, sustainability, and technology innovation while ensuring the organization maintains a safe, compliant, and cost-effective fleet.
The successful candidate will oversee the lifecycle management of fleet assets, manage critical vendor relationships, support digital transformation initiatives, and lead the deployment and operationalization of electric vehicles (EVs). This role partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, Safety, Finance, OEMs, and technology providers to support the company’s long-term transportation and sustainability objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and oversee preventative maintenance programs
- Track vehicle inspections and regulatory compliance (DOT, FMCSA)
- Maintain licensing, insurance and environmental compliance with help of outside vendors
- Manage vehicle acquisition, specifications and procurement
- Direct OEM engagement on vehicle specifications
- Analyze fleet performance data to identify areas for improvement
- Assist with the digitalization efforts as it relates to predictive AI
- Operationalize the Company’s EV fleet and eGSE
- Partner with electric vehicle manufacturers to test, validate, and procure electric capabilities for the company’s business units
- Collaborate with Sustainability team to develop and refine KPI’s and reporting on EV fleet
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in fleet management, project management
- Experience managing multiple outside vendors
- Experience assisting with vendor negotiations and dealing with Procurement
- Experience digitizing manual processes
- Experience with deploying electric vehicles
- Knowledge of plug-in electric vehicles and GSE landscape, including specifications and availability of current and future modes of transportation
