DHL, an award-winning leader in supply chain solutions, is seeking a Finance Manager (Controlling) to play a pivotal role within our evolving finance structure. Supporting our major operations in Derby, a large-scale, state-of-the-art DHL facility, as well as our Avonmouth site, this role offers the opportunity to make a real impact across a customer-focused operation. Some travel between sites will be required.

As a key people leader, you'll inspire and develop a talented finance team, creating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence. We're looking for someone who is passionate about delivering outstanding customer experiences, understands the importance of strong business partnerships, and can translate financial insight into operational success.

Working within DPDHL guidelines, you'll ensure all financial processes are completed accurately and on time, while driving improvements that enhance efficiency and support the needs of our customers. You'll work closely with operational and commercial stakeholders, providing high-quality reporting, performance analysis, and strategic business partnering that helps deliver exceptional service, maintain robust controls, and support business growth.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:

•Perform Controlling processes in scope for the respective site/customer like Reporting, Analysis, Budgeting & Forecasting
•Regular engagement with BU teams and shared services on inputs and outputs for the completion of common processes
•Focus on building deep business knowledge for the customer/sites in scope to facilitate judgemental decisions
•Manage updates and effectively maintain Budget, forecast and reporting schedules for the customer/sites in scope
•Provide regular updates to the Controlling Controller on process completion and any escalations
•Deliver the processes in scope to the agreed KPI requirements and support performance management
•Support the continuous improvement agenda by providing documented suggestions on how quality and efficiency might be improved
•Ensure all standard controlling processes on and off system are implemented and followed within your team, working closely with the Controller to
implement continuous improvement
•Manage workflow for the team alongside peers and ensure appropriate escalation

  • Part Qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent essential
