Join DHL as a Transport First Line Manager and play a key role in coordinating the movement of DHL customer products across the UK & Ireland. Leading a team of Transport Administrators, you'll drive operational excellence, deliver outstanding customer service, and continuously improve performance within a fast-paced transport and general haulage operation

What you'll do:

  • Managing and developing a team of 3 Transport Administrators, creating a positive, high-performance culture
  • Leading daily transport activities, ensuring all customer deliveries and collections are planned and executed successfully
  • Coordinating the shipment of 3M products throughout the UK & Ireland, alongside supporting general haulage activities for DHL customers
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, service and operational performance
  • Managing warehouse scheduling and transport administration activities to ensure smooth operational flow
  • Supporting customer invoicing processes and ensuring accurate transport documentation
  • Monitoring transport KPIs and utilising data to drive better decision-making and operational improvements
  • Ensuring full compliance with Driver Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive and all transport legislation
  • Maintaining Operator Licence compliance and supporting transport governance standards
  • Building strong relationships with customers, drivers, warehouse teams and key stakeholders
  • Leading employee engagement activities, coaching and mentoring team members to maximise performance and development
  • Using Microsoft Excel extensively to manage operational data, reporting, scheduling and customer requirements

What You'll Bring:
We're looking for a confident people leader who can balance operational demands with developing and motivating a team.

Essential experience and skills:

  • Previous experience within a transport, logistics or fleet operation
  • Experience managing, coaching and developing people
  • Strong understanding of Driver Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive and transport compliance legislation
  • Experience working with transport planning, scheduling, administration or fleet operations
  • Strong continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify and implement process improvements
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working from spreadsheets and operational reporting tools
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Teams, Outlook and Excel
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail

Desirable:
